The Three Fishes Story on Unity and Wisdom
Once upon a time, in a beautiful pond, three fishes lived together. They were close friends and spent their days swimming and playing in the water. Each of them had a different nature—one was wise and farsighted, the second was intelligent but acted only when needed, and the third was carefree and never thought about the future.
One day, two fishermen passed by the pond. Seeing the fishes playing, one of them said, “This pond is full of fish. Let’s return tomorrow with our nets and catch them all!” The other fisherman agreed, and they left to prepare for the next day.
The three fishes overheard the conversation. The wise fish immediately said, “We must leave this pond before the fishermen return. It is no longer safe for us here.” The second fish thought for a moment and said, “I will wait. If they come, I will find a way to escape.” But the third fish laughed and said, “Why worry? We have lived here safely for so long. I don’t think anything will happen.”
The wise fish didn’t waste any time. That night, it swam through a small opening that connected the pond to a nearby river and escaped to safety.
The next day, the fishermen came with their nets. As they started fishing, the second fish got trapped. It pretended to be dead, and when the fishermen threw it back into the water, it quickly swam away to safety.
The third fish, however, was caught and could not escape. It struggled, but the fishermen took it away.
Moral of the Story:
“Wisdom and timely action can save lives. Those who fail to act in time may face consequences.”
This story teaches us the importance of thinking ahead, making smart decisions, and acting wisely in times of danger.
