Meanwhile, Neelam was sitting with Virendra, discussing a business deal. She wanted Rishi to take over, but she noticed his distraction. Even Karishma sensed something was wrong and asked if he was hiding anything. Before Rishi could respond, a courier arrived. The delivery boy handed an envelope to Lakshmi. She opened it casually, but what she saw inside made her hands tremble.
It was a divorce notice from Rishi. Her heart pounded as she reread the words, hoping she had misunderstood. But the reality was clear. She looked up at Rishi, her eyes filled with tears, searching for an answer. The entire family was shocked. Ayush, Dadi, and Bani were speechless. Neelam remained calm, while Karishma exchanged meaningful glances with Malishka.
Lakshmi struggled to find her voice. “What is this, Rishi?” she asked, her voice breaking. Rishi lowered his gaze, unable to meet her eyes. Lakshmi’s pain turned into anger. She looked at Rishi, expecting him to deny Malishka’s words, but he remained silent. His silence hurt more than the notice in her hands. Tears streamed down her face as she realized she had been betrayed.
Ayush couldn’t stay quiet. “Rishi Bhai, what are you doing? You love Lakshmi, then why this?” he demanded. But Rishi had no answers. He was trapped between his feelings and the pressure around him.
Lakshmi couldn’t bear to stay any longer. She ran out of the house, her vision blurred with tears. She found herself at a temple, where she broke down. The priest noticed her distress and spoke gently, “Child, life tests us in many ways. The answer lies in how we face it.” His words struck a chord in her heart.
Back at the Oberoi house, Malishka was celebrating. She had finally succeeded in getting Lakshmi out of Rishi’s life. Karishma, however, warned her, “Don’t get overconfident. Lakshmi is not weak.” But Malishka dismissed her concerns.
Neelam, on the other hand, felt a strange unease. She had wanted Lakshmi gone, but now that it was happening, something didn’t feel right. Virendra noticed her expression and said, “Maybe we were wrong about Lakshmi.” Neelam didn’t reply, but his words stayed with her.
Rishi sat in his room, staring at their wedding photo. He felt empty. He had hurt Lakshmi in the worst way possible, and he knew it. “I never wanted this, Lakshmi,” he whispered to himself. But things had gone too far now.
Lakshmi returned home later that evening, her eyes dry but her heart burning with determination. She was not the same broken woman who had left. She looked at Rishi and said, “I will sign the papers. But I will not let you break me.” Her strong words shocked everyone, including Malishka.
